It’s Game 6 of the Stanley Cup playoffs tonight. Chicago Blackhawks vs. Tampa Bay Lightning, and it’s the finals! Chicago is filled with civic pride, and folks are very excited about this evening’s game. It’s a big one, let’s leave it at that!
So, we have the Navy Pier Ferris wheel decked out in players’ jerseys: Toews, Kane, Sharp, Shaw, Crawford, Keith. Hossa, Seabrook, Saad, and many more.
Downtown, a tall building gets the Blackhawks team message across, and of course, it is in team colors of red, black, and white. (As you can see, our city’s “One Goal” right now is to win the Stanley Cup).

In the Chicago loop, in front of the Art Institute, our famous pair of bronze lions puts on their hockey helmets. Yes, they are rough, tough — and ready to spring into action on the ice.
In the wishing pond at the Garfield Park Conservatory, the cheer heard around the city is spelled out in coins. What are we wishing for? A Hawks win tonight, so they can close out the series and reach victory at home.
Let’s Go Hawks!!!
