Somewhere, in my collection of cassette tapes, is “Comic Relief,” Volume 1. It’s a recording of the 1986 live comedy show organized by Robin Williams, Whoopi Goldberg and Billy Crystal, to raise money for the homeless. And it is fu-NNY! I have no idea how many times I’ve listened to it. But at one time, I knew it by heart.
And then there’s one of my favorite Robin Williams movies, “Moscow on the Hudson.” It’s the sweet, funny tale of a circus performer who defects from Russia, in the middle of Bloomingdale’s in New York City. Williams stars as Vladimir, the Russian, and he pulls it off perfectly.
Kiss the bears for us, Robin. Miss you.
